It’s been a year, since Sally did a workshop for us. The last one was at Bowlees, and we got some amazing results around the mirrored sculptures and at Gibson’s Cave.
This time, we’re going to High Force.
In addition to using fire torches, Sally has some high-end LED equipment, which creates patterns around her. As you might imagine, all of these look extra special when done in, or near to, water.
We’ll make the most of the environment we’re shooting in. It’ll be dark, but starting around blue hour – within an hour of both the sunset and moonrise. The perfect combination.
Many people come to workshops like this for the exclusive access, and need little to no tuition. Others are new to night photography and will get all the help they need. Regardless of your current skill level, you’ll get full tutorial support and will go home with some good photographs.
For this event, you’ll need a camera, a tripod and a torch. It would be useful to have a choice of lenses, but we’ll work with what you’ve got. An 18-55mm kit lens will do just fine. If you want to use flash, you’ll need a speedlite or a strobe (ideally with a remote trigger).
I need to limit the number of places on workshops, to make sure everyone gets all the shots and support they need. There will be a maximum of 15 places available on this one.
In the event of extreme weather being forecast (e.g. heavy rain or snow), the event will be postponed, in order to keep everyone safe and to protect your camera equipment. In such circumstances, every effort will be made to provide a new date at the same location, which you can attend – otherwise, you’ll get a voucher to a future event of your choice. We offer this as an extra service to you, to make it more likely you’ll be shooting in good conditions.
You’ll receive joining instructions around two days before the event, including the meeting point and what you need to bring with you. Bookings may not be cancelled, but we’d be happy for you to give your ticket to someone else, if you’re unable to come.
Hope you can join us. You’ll be glad you did.
